DIY Cold Brew for the Lazy Girl
I’ll admit, I’m an avid coffee drinker–dare I say fanatic–and have come up with so many coffee hacks throughout the years! I previously wrote a post on some magical ingredients I add to my morning coffee, so check that out if you’re looking to read more.
Cold brew is AMAZING in the hotter months of the year, and not watery like iced coffee. Cold brew is proven to be less acidic due to it’s high pH, which has been great for my stomach! Cold brew also has more caffeine than regular iced coffee. (Berkeley Wellness)
I’ve crafted a super cheap and painless recipe, even the laziest–aka me– can manage!
Lazy Cold Brew Recipe
What you need:
Coffee Grounds (my favorite are Starbucks medium roasts)
Mason Jar or container
Place one tablespoon of coffee grounds per one cup of cold water into your french press. Mix the solution around with a long spoon or other utensil for a couple seconds to get everything blended. Put the french press into the fridge and let steep overnight, or for around 12 hours. Once the time is complete, you have cold brew! Press the strainer on your french press down and enjoy! I usually dilute mine with water when I pour it into my glass (1/4 water and the rest cold brew). I also love to add coconut milk, cinnamon, and turmeric! Store the rest of your cold brew from the french press in a Mason Jar or other glass container for up to a week!
